About us

Logo Horse Act

Horse Act guides both people and horses to the best version of themselves. For this we must return to our nature, our values... to the essence. The learning process between human and horse leads us to natural leadership, inner balance and better performance. The tools we need are authenticity and energy management. That decisiveness creates connection. People learn that from horses and horses from people.

Natural horsemanship (horse-man relationship) is the connecting interaction that ensures mutual trust between man and horse. It is a relationship where there is no room for dominance and insecurity.

Our philosophy is based on Respect and Trust, the essence of the horse language. Respect ensures that we do not overstep the boundaries of others. Trust ensures that we dare to come out of our comfort zone and show our vulnerability. And those dynamics are exactly the same in humans and horses within their ecosystems.

" I am fascinated by the psychology of the horse herd and work with these beautiful animals and their silent language every day. I enriched my experience as an entrepreneur with training as a Leadership Coach, Horse Coach, Systemic Working with Horses, Horse Training, etc.

Our concept is based on the natural forces associated with our Free Will - Energy, Intention and Connection. I feel particularly grateful when clients learn to have a more positive, powerful and serene approach to life. And I can do that thanks to a very special voice condition that has brought me to the silent horse language 🫶🏾. Read my personal story here ."

After she sold her IT company, Ilse founded the private foundation Endelea Foundation. Since 2021, this charity organization has focused on mental health in Central Africa by providing support in the field of digitalization.
"As an entrepreneur, I have a great fascination with group dynamics and how people work together to achieve goals. Empowering people and thus allowing individuals to excel in a group is something that I pay a lot of attention to during professional coaching. When there is respect and trust prevails in a group, the strengths and weaknesses fit together nicely like a puzzle.

Studying herd behavior in horses made me realize that people and horses can learn a lot from each other to become stronger individually and in groups and to become more balanced." As a Horse Act Instructor, David supports practical guidance during the instruction moments with the horses. He followed various courses (Horse Instructor, Horse Training, Horse Awareness and Horsemanship TRT) and works with his own horses every day.

Within Horse Act, Els ensures the streamlined organization of all activities: the workshops, the rental of the facilities but also the grooming of the horses. The focus is not only on Horse Care, but on Horse Well-being. That means all physical, emotional and psychological factors. So Horse Health.

Els spent her entire life among horses. As Operational Manager , she runs the Hof van 't Rommersum and has developed the location into an oasis of peace.

"I am a horse person but also a human person. Dealing with the daily challenges within our Horse Act ecosystem... that is my thing 🐴 . Read my personal story here . "

"Since my childhood, I've been fascinated by the strength, purity, and elegance of the horse. My journey into nursing began from a passion for caring for others. After 5 fulfilling years, I traded the white uniform for the royal blue one and joined the police force. I dedicated over 20 years to this work and found fulfillment in a leadership role.

During a challenging divorce, I lost myself and hit rock bottom. But then, horses crossed my path. They guided me to inner peace, harmony with my surroundings, and rediscovery of my true self. I learned the profound meaning of trust and genuine respect. I experienced what it's like to be fully present in the moment, aligning mind and body, and how clear communication brought a sense of unity. I was really fascinated by the silent language of horses. I became a horse coach and career coach because experiencing the horse as a co-coach is something to be shared together."

"Horses have woven a consistent thread through my life in recent years. They have appeared in various forms through systemic work, individual coaching, and team sessions. I have experienced firsthand the impact they have on myself and the teams I guide. They mirror what is present, without words, and inspire movement in people. Their functioning as a herd is so similar and reflective of human group dynamics.

At Horse Act, I seize the opportunity to expand my passion for people and horses with the language and psychology of horses, and I find a home base to connect my experiences as a systemic and team coach and trauma specialist with horses.

I look forward to guiding entrepreneurs, teams, and C-levels in their professional and personal transformation toward growth. To take them on a journey of stillness and acting in the now."

Our horses

Iris

“My horse was getting too old to compete anymore. Until I attended the groundwork workshop. Really cool, I didn't know there could be so much interaction between her and me. The horses of Rommersum are sweethearts. It was a very interesting course. ”

Sarah – Manager from Diest

“The power of horses has given me more insight into my own strength, which was hidden under many layers of thinking, instead of feeling. It also helped me gain more confidence in dealing with these big gentle giants. And with it more confidence in life and everything that presents itself. Working with horses in this way, in such a beautiful place, is extremely valuable and unique!”

Marijke

“Dear Ilse,
Coaching means going into depth. But it's so nice to give each other feedback in the middle of the horses. Forget everything for a moment and pay attention to yourself. And pay attention to pain points, to allow them to surface and release without too much pain. Indeed in a place in the here and now. Realizing that we are all perfectly fine. We can be there. Thank you. I return home with a warm feeling and a broad smile. Grateful and full of love. Love Marijke”

Helena - sister from Zellik

"I compliment you on your friendly approach. It was very easy to communicate with you and discuss everything regarding the workshop. You were always willing to answer questions and meet our wishes. The flexibility and openness you showed , made the whole organization smooth and pleasant.

Thank you again for creating such an unforgettable experience. You gave my sister a birthday gift that she will cherish forever. I will definitely recommend you to friends and family who are interested in similar workshops."

Naomi - daughter from Bornem

"I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful horse workshop you organized for my mother's birthday. It was a truly fantastic experience for her and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

The fact that the workshop not only included riding, but also taking the horse from the pasture and brushing it made it really special. My mother loved having such direct interaction with the horses and feeling more connected to these beautiful animals.”

Eline from Wellen

“I followed the leadership workshop and first I thought: how can horses help? But what an experience! Those horses really show how to use leadership, without feeling bad for them. I will definitely take this to our company. Thanks Ilse for the nice explanation. “

Heidi, Caitlin and Meaghan

“Dear Els and Ilse,
Thanks for the 3 cool back to basics days. It was a great awakening between the horses, birds and swallows. Dissined with a nice breakfast and fresh eggs. We found it a very nice and educational workshop with Ilse and we will definitely try to continue. Good luck to you. Greetings, Heidi, Caitlin and Meaghan”

Koen - entrepreneur Kempen

“Why did Oya, that beautiful pregnant mare, stand with her head against my head? And why did Ucardo do exactly the same thing? Why, during another session, did two young stallions chase us away from under the walnut tree where we were reasoning? Because I was in my head too much. Literal. When I went back to feeling and let the feeling speak from my stomach, Diamond suddenly appeared. He came to say it was okay and went straight to my stomach. Magic. It brings tears to my eyes again. Thank you Ilse and the horses of Rommersum. A reborn coachee, Koen”

Annick - lawyer Brussels

“I have already followed various coaching programs, but that was not horse coaching. With Ilse I was really surprised by her approach. Everything has been very well thought out from start to finish. The beautiful surroundings are an oasis of peace, back to basics! For me, who lives in the center of Brussels, this is truly an incredible relief. I will definitely come back.”

Bart from Tessenderlo

“My horse was too old to go on a competition. Until I have attended the workshop groundwork. I didn’t know there could be so much interaction between her and me. The horses of the Rommersum are darling. It was a very interesting course. “O it is “
